Soap on a Rope
Making soap on a rope is easy especially if you’re making one out of soap scraps. That’s right. We’re using soap scraps to make soap on a rope either for your personal use or to give to someone else. Soap on a rope is something you can do to make use of those soap scraps instead of just throwing them away or letting it soak in your soap dish. Let’s begin making your very first soap on a rope with the following steps.
First, you will need to prepare the materials needed for soap on a rope. These are the soap scraps, warm water, and nylons. You’ll need 1 cup full of soap scraps to make soap on a rope. Now that you’ve gathered all the materials, let’s start by breaking up the soap scraps into tiny little pieces. It will be best to use a grater or knife. That’s how small it should get. Now, prepare a mixing bowl and place the grated soap scrapes in the bowl. Next, prepare a half cup of warm water. Pour it into the bowl and let it stand for about an hour.
After an hour, start kneading the soap and the water together as if you are kneading dough. Make sure to make it smooth and come up with the consistency of thick dough. If needed, add more warm water as needed. Make sure to add only a little at a time. You can use a tablespoon to make sure you only add little amount of water. If you want to add color, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture until the desired color is achieved. Blend well. Now, it’s time to shape the mixture into a ball. Lay a piece of wax paper on the table and set the soap on top. It will take at least 24 hours to dry.
Once dry, cut about 12 inches nylon and create a loop around the soap ball. Tie the ends of the nylon above the soap ball. Now, you can hang your soap on a rope in the shower!
