Some organic soap contains peppermint. Peppermint has become a favorite ingredient because it provides great relief for aching muscles and relieving stress. At the same time, it is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory so you can use it on irritated skin. Another common ingredient is almond. Ground almonds and sweet almond oil helps achieve that mild exfoliating scrub in organic soaps. It unclogs pores and absorbs excess oil. Instead of using the chemical Sodium Lauryl Sulfate found in most synthetic soaps, almond is the perfect alternative. Almond mixed with lemon makes a great combination to get rid of toxins and dead skin cells. Other mild exfoliating scrubs are made up of orange or poppy seeds.

Cinnamon is another common ingredient used in organic soap. It is mildly abrasive and generally antiseptic. It reduces stress and is also considered an aphrodisiac. Now if the organic soap you have is focused on soothing dry or cracked skin, it may well contain calendula petals or calendula oil. Calendula has good anti-inflammatory properties and is another good antibacterial antiseptic.

Lavender is also known to soothe headache and relieve you from stress. Other organic soaps contain oatmeal mixed with cinnamon. It is a mild exfoliating scrub that’s best for those with dry skin or eczema. It’s a general antiseptic great for irritated skin. Many other ingredients include Moroccan red clay for very oily skin, green French clay for those with acne, and dead seal salts and other plant based oils.
